Children are often excellent subjects when using hypnosis, meaning that they respond well to hypnotherapy. I often see children or teenagers that have been to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) who feel helpless and powerless and whose parents are looking for an alternative to help their children.
Most problems stem from underlying emotional issues. This is not a judgement on the family, because even with the most loving background there can be areas that have an effect on a child, whether they are aware of it or not.
There are so many issues that can be helped using hypnotherapy and that way change a child’s life. Just like adults, children can easily be regressed and that way reveal the sources of their issues. Children have to deal with many changes in their lives, like moving house, bullying, or criticism. They may have a hard time making friends, handling school, fitting in. Just like adults they react to worry and stress in different ways. Children become angry, school work suffers, they become distracted, get headaches, stop eating, have stomach problems and so the list goes on. Small problems they used to have may become more pronounced. Maybe they can’t sleep or develop a sudden fear of animals, they may become frightened of going to the doctor, they may not want to leave the house etc. Parents are doing their best to help but it doesn’t change much for the child.
The process of hypnotherapy is very relaxing but at the same time releases anxiety and fear, and is a therapy that can completely change the outlook on life.
