Do you need help with your Fear of Birds?
If you suffer from a fear of birds you might be very uncomfortable around them or even extremely frightened. Some people are frightened of all sorts of birds while for others it is only a certain variety that causes distress. When faced with confronting a bird it may be that you start shaking or are unable to move. It is extremely difficult to avoid birds completely as they are free animals and can appear seemingly out from nowhere. For many people it is the flapping of the wings that causes the anxiety.
People who are frightened of them tend to avoid areas that are likely to be inhabited by birds, such as seagulls at beach resorts or places in town where one would find many pigeons. This obviously means that they find it difficult to leave their home and they can develop agoraphobia as well. Some cases of fear are related to when children were faced with aggressive birds such as seagulls or ducks asking for food. Sometimes it can be the parents that exhibit fear which too can trigger a phobia. Sometimes it is seeing a dead bird that causes the fear or suddenly being faced with a bird that flies in through a window or bashes against a window.
A fear of our feathered friends “the birds” is not an uncommon fear but when left untreated it could become life-limiting, and as a rule it gets worse as a person gets older. Hypnotherapy and regression therapy are excellent ways of releasing such a phobia, either through working on and neutralising the cause of the fear, or through softening the anxieties associated with birds by using hypnotic relaxation and suggestions. Generally, I use both methods (sometimes combined with EFT and NLP techniques), and I have had a lot of success over the years in terms of freeing people from the life-limiting effects of phobias.
